The Antique Junk Store
This story is part of the introduction chapter of the Shake Hands With Time: Connecting With Our Legacy book.
In the last shorter post, I shared oodles of excitement about my new project and introduced a book tentatively titled Shake Hands With Time: Connecting With Our Legacy. Let's look at the sacred language of the Tao.
The title of this post is the tentative title of my next book. Allow me to explain.
We treat anxiety as a disorder because of the reality of suffering. This illusion is based upon the fairytale that if we are good and do everything as we are told then we will live happily ever after. Not so fast Sherlock.
What is meant in the title by ‘no self’ and what is the perceived immense difficulty of personal change. ( A 10-12 minute read)
Appreciating this gift of human consciousness.
Waking up from the sleep of self concern.
Realizing our connection to all life.
Eighty years OR eight minutes is all the same moment.
To witness our illusions, dreams and fears.
Knowing we are all responsible for health.
Realizing every moment is impermanent.
The only certainty is all will change.
All perception is the nature of mind.
Wisdom opens when self concern fades.
Wisdom arises on the shoulders of compassion.
WE SUFFER WHEN WE HOLD ON. WE SUFFER WANTING TO BE A SOMEBODY. WE SUFFER WITH DISEASE AND DEATH. SUFFERING STOPS WHEN WE SMILE IN THE FACE OF IMPERMANENCE.
